Introducing the Notes on Sitting wiki. Any post with the wiki tag is part of this new experimental area. The difference between a regular post, and a post with the wiki tag, is that if you post a regular post, only you as the author, can edit the first post. Then of course other members can reply. But, with a post tagged wiki, the very first main post can be edited by others. But, only by people who are part of a group we’re calling the Contributors group.
If you are in our Contributors group, you will be able to edit wiki posts. Yes, even this post right here. What this means is, one Contributor could start a post about mantras, and then another Contributor could edit and/or add to it. Not by replying, but by editing the actual main/first post. This way, if this works out, Notes on Sitting could one day have a pretty extensive human-made encyclopedia on meditation. Yes, like Wikipedia. But, better. And, our own.
Another major difference is that any post with the wiki tag will not allow replies. Why? This is because comments/discussion/conversation, isn’t necessary with a wiki post. Wiki posts are here for your information only. It’s the regular note/link posts where we want the conversations.
You: Okay, so how do I become a contributor?
